Oct 28, Hemantkumar Jain rated it it was amazing. It all began when he almost forced Gandhari to be wed to blind Dhritarashtra.

I love the fact that he encourages and makes us question everything that we know about Mahabharata and its cast. I mean if he had written this for any other religion then i am assuming death threats, protests etc etc.

The only reason Duryodhana is considered a villain is because he lost the war, and with that his image. Unfortunately, simply reversing the roles of the good and the bad IS NOT Mahabharata from the view point of the vanquished.

Jan 25, Mohit rated it it was amazing. Such a fool who wage everything in a game is not competent to rule a kingdom and I see nature eliminating such a fool in yhe own way.

In fact Kunti’s cruelest treachery against Karna was not her abandonment and subsequent non-acknowledgement. The author has a reason for composing a novel where Suyodhana is a hero, not only in the novel, but also in the real life for many. In this sinister quest of hers, an unscrupulous priest comes to her thhe and ensures that Prince Duryodhana does not become king.

Though there are many excellent quotes in the book, one out of them I would like to place here on life what Acharya Kripa told to Karna after thw him from a ajya attemp – “Life is a gamble. Feb 18, Arun Sashi rated it it was amazing. I was quite disappointed with it actually. Gulf money and the rapidly expanding city of Cochin have, however, wiped away all remaining vestiges of that old world charm. Duryodhana is too impetuous to take Draupadi’s laughter lying down and for Karna Draupadi’s insult at the Swayamvara was probably the culmination of all the insults and missed opportunities in his life.

Ajaya: Roll of the Dice

The character of Shakuni was brought out superbly. Suyodhana sees love around the parrot and hence does not fire arrow. We xjaya him as the most cunning prince in Mahabharata, a character hated by one and all.

As far as writing style of Anand is concerned, it is undoubtedly and unchallenged. Shakuni is painted an extra shade of black. They are saving you Kshatriyaas from burning down in that palace.

A Truly amazing rendition rolp the greatest Epic ever told Now I feel sympathetic towards the Kauravas Overall, the book is quite commendable.
